About My Low Cholesterol Diet Plan
Hi!
Welcome to My Low Cholesterol Diet Plan.
With this site I want to help you to create an healthy diet plan that allows you to control your cholesterol.
Cholesterol is known as the “silent killer” because it may kill you without any warning. No pain, no visible effects. Suddenly, you feel a strong pain in your left side and you suffer an heart attack. If you survive, you’ll learn that your arteries are clogged. Why is that?
First, you should understand what cholesterol is, why you have cholesterol, and how it may harm you.
It may surprise you to know that cholesterol itself isn’t bad. In fact, cholesterol is just one of the many substances created and used by our bodies to keep us healthy. Most of the cholesterol we need is produced naturally by the liver (and can be affected by your family health history), while some of it comes from the food we eat, specially food with too much fat (only animal products have cholesterol).
There are two types of cholesterol: “good” and “bad.” It’s important to understand the difference, and to know the levels of “good” and “bad” cholesterol in your blood. Too much of one type — or not enough of another — can put you at risk for coronary heart disease, heart attack or stroke.
Before I give you more details, let me tell you that in my early forties I found, after a routine blood analysis, that my cholesterol was too high and that I was in risk of a heart attack. I was shocked! I always have been a healthy person, I used to be careful with what I ate (I was fighting to keep my weight), and yet, I had high cholesterol levels. How was that?
The doctor told me that I needed to exercise more, shouldn’t eat red meat, and no more butter, ham and eggs. Instead, I should eat a lot of vegetables and fruit. If I didn’t control my cholesterol levels I would have to start having medication for the rest of my life.
I learned how to control my cholesterol by following a low cholesterol diet plan, walking 30-40 minutes every day and using some natural cholesterol lowering supplements.
It is this experience that I want to share with you. I created the following pages for you with advice and information that helped me to avoid medication until today.
I hope you enjoy them!
To your health and happiness
